Where the Ganga and Brahmaputra meet the sea — the largest delta and mangrove forest on Earth.

The Ganga–Brahmaputra–Meghna system dumps a vast sediment load into the Bay of Bengal, building a shifting maze of islands, tidal creeks and mudflats — the largest delta in the world, still growing today.

Its brackish shallows carry the greatest continuous mangrove forest anywhere, the Sundarbans, home to the swimming Royal Bengal tiger and a natural buffer against cyclones and storm surge.
